A green card is a document in which details of the documents of vehicle, such as fitness certificate, Road permit, tax deposit certificate, insurance certificate, pollution certificate details will be compiled. |

|

|
As per rule 195 of Uttarakhand Motor Vehicles Rules, 2011, "no person shall drive a public service vehicle or a goods vehicle on a Hill road ,unless his license to drive such public service vehicle or goods vehicle has been endorsed by a registering authority with a permission to drive on hill roads situated within the jurisdiction of such registering authority or in the case of a public service vehicle hired by tourists, by the registering authority of the state with which a reciprocal arrangements on the point have been agreed upon.Thus, hill endorsement on a license is mandatory for driving a commercial vehicle on hill routes. |

If I do not want to go to Chardham Yatra, but i want to go to the other region of Uttarakhand. Do I still have to take a green card / trip card? |

Green Card / Trip Card have been made mandetory only for public service vehicles engaged in the transportation of passengers traveling on the hill routes on religious journeys. Green cards are not required to travel to the hill area for any other purpose. |

Is it necessary to have a technical inspection of the vehicle to get a green card or not? |
|
Yes vehicle owner have to produce the vehicle for inspection. |

What is the size of the bus up to which a green card can be issued? |
|
In the state of Uttarakhand, it is not permitted to issue green cards to buses having larger than 4500 mm wheelbase and overhang more than 60 percent of wheelbase, the overall width should not exceed 2570mm. |

No, The green card has been made mandetory for public service vehicles only. |

The following fees will be payable for the green card:
- For light motor vehicles-Rs 400.00
- For medium motor vehicle-Rs 600.00
- For heavy motor vehicle-Rs 600.00
The above fees will be paid by the vehicle owner at the time of green card application only through online mode.

|
No fee will be payable for the card. |

The following documents are required for the trip card: -
- Valid Driver License.
- Hill endorsement on driver's license,
- Uttarakhand state permit.
- Tax payment certificate of Uttarakhand state.
- List of passengers traveling in the vehicle in the prescribed format.

No, Other vehicle should get new green card. |

During the period of validity of green card ,any number of trips can be made during the entire chardham yatra period. It is mandatory to update the green card once it expires. |

yes,a Trip card has to be made for each time it travels. |

If I make a green card and I do not want to travel, will the fee I deposited be refunded to me? |
|
The fee payable for the green card is non-refundable. |

|
Uttarakhand State Motor Vehicle Tax can be deposited through Online Mode on parivahan.gov.in.web through check post link and also on offline mode by presenting Original documents of vehicles at the transport tax collection centers established on the border of Uttarakhand state. |
